8 Days Gorilla Safari: Detailed Itinerary

 Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to Kibale National Park

On this day, the trained tour guide from the adventure in the wild safaris will pick you up from the Entebbe airport to Kampala. You will have a small game drive in the city where you will get to see different attractions such as the museums, the independence monument, the Baha’i temple, the kabaka tombs to mention but a few. From there you will then continue and transfer to kibale national park which will take you over 6 hours to arrive to the park. On your arrival, you will be checked in and then directed to the hotel where to spend an overnight.

Destination: Kibale National Park

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Immediately after your morning tea, you will get to the headquarters to start off your trekking. You will begin with a briefing with the trained tour guide who will give you the rules and the regulations of trekking the chimpanzees. From there, you will head into the jungle and start the trekking. As soon as you get the primates, you will be given ample time over one hour to spend with these primates. From there you will head back to the lodge have lunch and then immediately embark on your journey to queen Elizabeth. On your arrival you will be checked in and directed o the lodge where to spend an over night and prepare for the next day.

Destination: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Day 3: Morning game Drive and Tree Climbing Lions 

You will wake up very early in the morning take your morning tea and then do a morning game drive in queen Elizabeth national park. In this drive, you will get to see a number of animals such as the lions, leopards, giraffes, buffaloes to mention but a few. From there you will get back to the lodge have lunch and then go for an evening game drive in Ishasha to trek the tree climbing lions. From there you get back to the lodge refresh have dinner and rest.

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After your morning breakfast, you will set off your journey to Bwindi impenetrable national forest which is a 5-hour drive to reach the park. You will immediately check in and then be directed to the lodge where to spend an overnight. You will have your lunch, relax and then go for an evening batwa community walk where you will get to interact with the local people in the community more so the women and get to know what activities they do to earn a living. From there you will get back to the lodge have diner and rest for the next day.

Destination: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park 

Day 5 of 8 Days Gorilla Safari: Gorilla Trekking and Transfer to Lake Mutanda 

After your morning breakfast, you will be picked up by your trained guide to the park head quarters to get the rules and the regulations of trekking the gorillas. You will get mixed by other people there. From there you will be divided into the groups of 8 members and then transferred into the jungle to start trekking. Once you get the gorillas, you will be given ample time of over one hour to stay with them and then have fun, take photos and then set off to the lodge to have lunch. From there you will set off to lake mutanda where you will do a boat cruise and get to see a number of animals such as the hippos, crocodiles and so on. You will then head back to the lodge, have dinner and then rest o prepare for tomorrow.

Day 6: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

As soon as you finish your morning breakfast, you will transfer to the volcanoes in Rwanda. On your arrival, you will be checked in and directed to the lodge where you will spend your overnight. You will take your meals and then go for an evening nature walk to visit the musanze caves. In these caves, you will get to see the artcrafs, the locals demonstrating the traditional way of living, cultures to mention but a few. From there you will get back to the lodge have dinner and then rest.

Destination: Volcanoes National Park

Day 7: Second Gorilla Trekking and Ibyiwacu Cultural Centre

You will have your morning breakfast, then set off to the park headquarters to have a briefing with the trained tour guide about the rules and the regulations of trekking gorillas. From there you will be divided into the groups of 8 members where you will set off into the jungle and start the trekking. Once you get the gorillas, you will be given ample time to stay with these beautiful primates and take the photos. From there, you will get back to the lodge, have lunch and then relax for some time to prepare for an evening nature walk in the Ibyiwacu culture center where you will get to see the traditional dances, the culture foods of the Rwanda people, the houses and the life style of the Rwanda people. From there, you will get back to the lodge, have dinner and then rest.

Day 8 of 8 Days Gorilla Safari: Transfer to Kigali and Off to the airport

You will have to wake up very early in the morning, have your morning tea and then transfer to kigali international port where you will from there set off your journey back to Kampala. This marks the end of the 8 days Rwanda and Uganda gorilla tour.
